Let’s share the truth about cars 10 worst cars of 2007. All of them are pure american cars and all of them share the same lack of product vision. Most of them are the result of brand engineering, rebadging, user-group oriented design and industrial optimization. Some of them, like the Sebrin g or the Compass, are so decadent that their shelf life could be less than two years long. Somewhere else, we learn that a chinese automaker has cranked up a plant in Ethiopia to build simple Logan-like Lifan 520s. There, after a century of product development, the car industry goes rapidly back to it’s standards of the 50s, moving it’s plants to low wage countries and local emerging markets, trying to sell shapes and colors instead of technologies. The path to the sustainable car will be a hard one.
